BIM communication

One of the priorities of DEKSOFT is to enable the maximum possible connection to BIM design through standardized communication formats. The most common communication format for BIM is the IFC. However, this format is currently not suitable for transferring information from a 3D model of a building to energy performance programs. We use a different format in this area, namely gbXML. We also use the simple Collada format for transferring graphic models into our DEKSOFT programs.

Details of the DEKSOFT connection to BIM through individual formats can be found here:
  • gbXML import - importing the geometric model of the building into the program ENERGEICS for the purpose of assessing the energy performance of buildings
  • Collada - importing the geometric model of the building into the program PHOTOVOLTAICS for photovoltaic power plant calculations
  • IFC import / IFC export - enable the retrieval of relevant information from a common BIM data storage into individual DEKSOFT programs and enable the export of DEKSOFT program calculation results into a common BIM data repository
