What BIM means

BIM is the abbreviation of the term Building Information Modeling or Building Information Management. We can describe it as an information model of a building. It is a digital model of a building that includes a geometric model of the building and non-graphical information about the building and its parts. The building information model includes all phases of the building, from design to construction, to the actual use of the building, management, eventual modifications of the completed building to its demolition. Ideally, all stakeholders - architect, designer, engineering specialists (structural engineers, acoustics, energy consultants, etc.), contractor, building user, building manager, etc. - enter the BIM process.
